To protect you from abuse or harmful content, we block content when it's flagged as suspect or known to lead to a malicious page. When we block a QR code, it leads to a warning page rather than the original destination.
There are many reasons why we might investigate a QR code. For example:
- The QR code violates our Acceptable Use Policy.
- A user or a blocklisting service has reported a problem with the destination page.
- We detected potentially malicious or inappropriate content.
- The QR code may lead to a forgery of another website.
When you encounter our warning page, we recommend you close your browser window and notify the person who sent you the QR code.
If you feel a QR code you've encountered should not be blocked, use our appeal form to let us know. We'll look into it.
To report an unsafe QR code, use the Report Abuse form.
