Before you cancel
- Cancel at least one day before your renewal date. A renewal can't be canceled once it has processed. Check your renewal date on the Billing page, or see Will my subscription be renewed automatically?
- You keep your benefits until the period ends. Your cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you've already paid for.
- Refunds aren't offered for unused time. See Can I get a refund if I cancel / delete my QRCG by Bitly account?
- You can change your mind. Revoke your cancellation any time before your subscription ends. See Can I revoke my subscription cancellation?
How to cancel your subscription
- Go to QRCG by Bitly and log in, if needed.
- Click Account, then select My Account.
-
Click Billing.
-
Under Payment Details, select Cancel Subscription.
-
Select I want to cancel and lose my benefits. Make sure to read the blue box at the bottom of the pop-up.
- Read and select the four boxes and provide a reason for your cancellation. Confirm with your password and then select cancel subscription.
Once you have completed the cancellation process, you’re returned to the billing page. Under Payment Details, we show the date you cancelled and the end date for your current QRCG by Bitly subscription. Note that we do not send confirmation emails regarding your cancellation.
What happens to your QR Codes after you cancel
Canceling doesn't switch your QR Codes off right away. Your Dynamic QR Codes keep redirecting to their destinations for two stretches of time:
- Through the end of your current subscription period, and
- For an additional 30 days that begin on the last day of your contract.
During that 30-day window your Dynamic QR Codes still work, but you can't edit them. Editing becomes available again if you reactivate your subscription.
Once the 30 days are over, your account is locked and your Dynamic QR Codes redirect to a service page instead of their original destination.
Static QR Codes aren't affected. A Static QR Code encodes its destination directly, so it keeps working whether or not you have a subscription. See What is the difference between Dynamic and Static QR Codes?
To get your Dynamic QR Codes redirecting and editable again, reactivate your subscription. See How do I reactivate an inactive subscription?
Frequently asked questions
When exactly do my Dynamic QR Codes stop working?
They stop redirecting to your destination 30 days after the last day of your contract. Until then they work normally, so anything already printed or posted keeps scanning through that window.
Can I still edit my QR Codes after I cancel?
You can edit them until your subscription period ends. During the 30 days after that, your codes keep redirecting but can't be edited. Reactivating your subscription restores editing.
Can I cancel a renewal that has already processed?
No. Renewals can't be canceled after they process, and refunds aren't offered for unused time. Cancel at least one day before your renewal date.
Will I get a confirmation email?
No. Check the Payment Details section of your Billing page, which shows your cancellation date and your subscription end date.
I changed my mind. Can I undo my cancellation?
Yes, any time before your subscription ends. See Can I revoke my subscription cancellation?
